Big momma I have always up till now used a recipe where you weigh out all the fruit seperate but I have so many to make that if I could just put all the fruit in together it would make life a whole lot easier for me.

Total Årsehole I made a Christmas cake yesterday, and Mary Berry’s cake book says to feed periodcally with brandy. But doesn’t say how often and with how much brandy. Anyone? Anyone?

CATHY V I am making 3 small Christmas cakes - ie 2lb tins - does anyone know how long they should cook for ??? And yes, I know it’s too late really to make the cakes but that’s what happens when you work full time !!!!

Letty I iced my Christmas cake yesterday, probably too early. The icing is quite soft as I made a thick snow scene.
Should I leave the cake open to the air until icing is hard or place in an air-tight tin for a week?
