ShyGirl I’m trying to make a yeast bread with stone ground whole wheat flour, vital wheat gluten, flax meal etc. We don’t have a loaf pan and I was wondering if I need one or if I can just make it into a round loaf? Does it matter for the recipe?

Lamborama Can anyone direct me to a recipe for a whole-grain bread where you can actually find kernels of something yummy, wheat or whatever. I’ve made white bread, dark rye with caraway and a regular wheat bread, but I want something where the grains are more easily detected. Any ideas?

dr311 My mom got a recipe as described above years years ago from a mag like Family Circle or ?? It made fluffiest puffiest bestest bread to put honey on while warm.

blisscoy I’ve finally mastered the basic white bread recipe with yeast, flour, water and oil. It comes out as a soft yet chewy bread.
I see other recipes where an egg is added or milk is substituted for water. What does this do to the texture and firmness of the bread?

GonzoH The recipe is from a late 1970’s or early 1980’s cookbook with a lots of LDS quotes from their book of morman. The bread recipe also contained the same amount of oil, and a lost more recipes especially a fabulous whole carrot cake or bread.

Caesarion I make bread in this automatic bread maker I borrowed from my mom. It’s really easy, you just pour all the ingredients in and it does the rest.

KDdid Is there any rule of thumb for making a quick bread recipe, but instead of using regular bread pans using mini loaf pans (5 3/4 x 3 x 2 1/8)? Can any quick bread recipe be made in the smaller loaves?
